Crosslands is at the heart of mid-west iron ore. We are the second largest exporter of iron ore from Western Australia’s fast developing mid-west region, and an emerging mining industry leader.
Crosslands Resources Ltd owns and operates the Jack Hills iron ore mine, 380 kilometres north-east of Geraldton. Crosslands is one of the largest tenement holders in the mid-west iron ore province, and an integral part of the local community.
Jack Hills boasts a significant high grade iron ore resource, suitable for low cost open pit mining. Ore is mined, crushed and screened at Jack Hills, then transported, via Cue, to the Port of Geraldton where it is loaded and shipped to customers primarily in China and Korea. The Jack Hills operation currently produces and ships in excess of 1.5 million tonnes of high grade ore a year.
Crosslands is currently assessing a major expansion of its Jack Hills mine. A proposed new port facility at Oakajee and new railway infrastructure will allow us to substantially increase production, in turn delivering more benefits to the mid-west through growth opportunities.
While the main demand for our iron ore comes from Asian markets, Crosslands is a local company. We are dedicated to supporting the mid-west and are pleased to support local community initiatives. We already employ more than 300 people, both direct employees and contractors, at Crosslands and we’re working to increase this number.
Western Australia’s mid-west region is poised to become Australia’s next iron ore province – second only to the Pilbara – and Crosslands is a key force driving this growth. We take iron ore to the world, and our whole community is rewarded.
