Crosslands believes in forming meaningful and lasting relationships with mid-west Aboriginal communities and organisations and we are committed to:
- Providing employment and training opportunities for local Aboriginal people
- Establishing employment and training programs, taking into account the needs of local Aboriginal groups
- Helping to boost job prospects, by clearly defining processes involved in obtaining employment
- Assisting to improve education levels amongst indigenous youth
- Encouraging Crosslands’ contractors to provide training and employment opportunities for Aboriginal people
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with Aboriginal people, to find out how we can best help each other
- Regularly reviewing programs to ensure they are relevant, effective and appropriate and address the needs of both Crosslands and local Aboriginal communities
- Maintaining open communication with Aboriginal communities
- Promoting cross-cultural respect and understanding.
Crosslands knows that consultation and communication with local people is integral to a successful partnership. We respect the right of indigenous people’s cultural heritage and will work in partnership with all claimant groups to ensure all parties work towards a successful outcome.
